The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. With such wonderful Rodgers & Hammerstein’s songs: “In My Own Little Corner”, “10 Minutes Ago”, “Stepsisters Lament”, and the beautiful “Do I Love You”, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.
CINDERELLA is based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault, with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics/book by Oscar Hammerstein II. Please note this is the Original Version of CINDERELLA as presented on CBS TV in 1957, and not the 2013 Broadway Version.

TEDxBerkeley 2021: Imagine If…

TEDxBerkeley 2021: Imagine If…
If all the clouds in the sky melted into cotton candy, would they taste blue or pink?
As kids, questions like this came as naturally as breathing. With our imagination flowing freely, nothing was impossible. Imagination is a quality so deeply ingrained in human nature that we almost take it for granted. Yet, it also inspires incredible change.
Imagine if we had quantum computing, we lived in a prejudice-free society, we eliminated carbon emissions…
This year, at TEDxBerkeley 2021: Imagine If…, we invite you to explore how imagination has shaped history and offers limitless possibilities for the future. It will take our collective imagination to solve the world’s greatest challenges, from technology to climate change and medicine to human rights. Together, let’s champion creativity and consider the impossible. Join us virtually on March 6th and 7th, 2021 from 11:00 AM PST – 12:30 PM PST, at TEDxBerkeley to spark your imagination.

Puzzling Adventures™ are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided tour.

About this Event

Puzzling Adventures™ are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer questions or solve puzzles to receive your next instruction. All you need is your own mobile device and an Internet connection.

Young and old, individuals, families or friends. Participate in a group, as a couple, or individually. Create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages.

Because our adventures are self-guided you can play any time on any day – no reservations required! Complete the adventure as quickly as possible to win first place or take your time and smell the roses. The goal is to have fun enjoying the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the various locations you will visit.

Price is per team, not per person. Groups can be any size, but teams of two, three or four work best.

If you have any questions please visit the Help page on our web site at https://puzzlingadventures.com/faq.php

What time does this start?

You can start at any time of your choosing. We recommend going out during daylight hours. Duration averages around two hours to complete but location specific times can be found on our web site.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Each adventure will have a starting location that is usually a parking lot or parking garage. You may use the recommended parking, but it is not required. You will need to get to the suggested parking location to begin the adventure.

What’s the refund policy?

We will accept all refunds as long as the adventure has not been started.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You will only need a mobile device with an Internet connection. All registration is done via our website and you will not have to check in with anyone before you start your adventure as the game is self-guided.

The Bacon Brothers: The Shaky Ground Tour

The Bacon Brothers, never content to be typecast, they’ve fiercely devoted themselves to the cause of making music, undeterred by fame, fortune or the pitfalls that frequently obstruct the path to success.

Even from an early age (they cite such influences as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Motown, Led Zeppelin, Philly soul, and James Taylor, with mentions from Michael of Pete Seeger, Jimmy Rogers, Chet Atkins, and the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, and additional kudos to Michael from Kevin for his input), the two siblings share a singular body of work that’s found them spending more than 20 years of working the road and paying their dues, resulting in seven albums — spanning rock, soul, folk and Americana.

Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers

January 5, 2019
8:00 PM
Empress Theatre 330 Virginia St. Vallejo, CA
https://empresstheatre.org/events/2019-01-05-mindi-abair/

One of the most recognized and sought-after saxophonists/vocalists, two-time GRAMMY nominee Mindi Abair has been electrifying audiences with her dynamic live performances and utter command of the saxophone since her debut album in 2000. No one since Junior Walker has brought saxophone and vocals in one package to the forefront of modern music, with a raucous tone and dynamic stage presence. She has garnered ten #1 radio hits, six Top 5 solo records and two #1 spots on the Billboard album charts. In 2014, Mindi received her first GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category, followed by a 2015 GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for her solo LP Wild Heart featuring Gregg Allman, Joe Perry, Trombone Shorty, Booker T. Jones, Keb’ Mo’, and Max Weinberg.

The daughter and granddaughter of working musicians, Abair continues to captivate fans while evolving her sound. In 2014, after two seasons as the featured saxophonist on the hit series American Idol, Abair released Wild Heart. This LP showcased a compilation of grittier rock and soul tracks featuring some of the biggest names in music. To help translate this sound to her live shows, Mindi enlisted longtime friend and The Boneshakers founder Randy Jacobs (Bonnie Raitt, Was Not Was, Willie Nelson) to inject his brand of Detroit Blues Rock. The collaboration was undeniable, and it lead to an almost immediate decision to join forces creatively. Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers features band leader Mindi Abair (Saxophone, Vocals), Randy Jacobs (Guitar, Vocals), Rodney Lee (Keys), Derek Frank (Bass, Vocals), and Third Richardson (Drums, Vocals).
