The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. With such wonderful Rodgers & Hammerstein’s songs: “In My Own Little Corner”, “10 Minutes Ago”, “Stepsisters Lament”, and the beautiful “Do I Love You”, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.
CINDERELLA is based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault, with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics/book by Oscar Hammerstein II. Please note this is the Original Version of CINDERELLA as presented on CBS TV in 1957, and not the 2013 Broadway Version.

With the COVID-19 quarantine taking up most of the year, you may have a case of “cabin fever”. The Vacaville Museum Guild has the cure for a nasty case of boredom: Historical Homes Walking Tours.
The Guild will start outdoor neighborhood tours on Saturday October 3rd at 10:00 am, and will continue to schedule them for every first and third Saturday as reservations are made. Meet at the Museum courtyard to learn some local history and then start a leisurely walk to enjoy the sights and tales of the area. Each walk will take a different route to explore different hidden sights and tales of the city.
This 2-hour walk will start and end in the Vacaville Museum courtyard, 213 Buck Ave, Vacaville. Cost is $15 per person. Children are free. Wear comfortable shoes and a mask. Light refreshments will be served at the end of the tour. You may apply the $15 to a museum membership, if you would like to join in support of our wonderful Vacaville Museum.
To make your reservation, call the Museum at (707)447-4513, Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 1-5pm. Each walk will be limited to 15 participants. We ask that you please wear a mask and practice social-distancing.
